It might look quite simple but don’t just go by your first impression. If you are wondering as to what can be so complex in a card game then this one is just for you.
Played with a standard deck of 52 playing cards, this game looks the most simplest one. The Ross Perot Poker is an exception and its played with less than a full deck. The cards are ranked in the descending order with Ace, King, Queen and Jack taking the top positions respectively. Aces, you will want to have it in every game you play. It’s simply because these are the most valuable one in the game of poker. Apart from the value the card are also split into four suits.

DiamondsWell….now thats not new to you. But did you know that all these suits are of equivalent value? Genius, you knew it. It more for the sake of the game that these cards have been split into these suits rather than adding value to your cards.
The game begins with each player getting a deal of five cards. The goal of the game is to get the highest ranked cards and to try to avoid all the worst cards. These can be put together in different sequences which are called the hands. The hands are as follows:
Royal Flush
Straight Flush
Four of a Kind
Full House
Flush
Straight
Three of a Kind
Two Pair
One Pair
High CardRoyal Flush
You get them, you belong to the royal family. This is the most difficult hand and you need to get the Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10. Easy? Oh did we forget about the suit. You need to have all these of the same suit. Now you know why this is difficult.
Straight Flush
Know the numbers well? You just have to put in the cards in their sequence. All you cards should follow a sequence. In case two of the players manage to get straight flush then the one with the highest card value winds the game.
Four of a Kind
Get four cards for the same number and you win the game. Again if two of them manage to get four of a kind then the one with the highest card value wins.
Full House
Full house is where you have three of the Of the five cards are of same number and the other two are of a different number.
FlushFlush
A Flush is comprised of five cards of the same suit and it need no order in number is required.
Straight
Lets’ get this straight. Five cards in a numerical order irrespective of their suit gets you win the game.
Three of a Kind
Three cards of the same numerical rank alongwith two other random cards.
Two Pair
Two sets of pairs. Yes two sets and not just two cards and another random card can make you win the game..
One Pair
One pair with three random cards is what One pair is all about.
High Card
This comes into play when none of the players have anything of value. The player with the highest value card wind in this situation.
Simple? Well thats just for starters. With many other versions of this game, the game is surely going to get more complex. Get going with these for now and you will soon pick up things quickly.
