Two More WSOP Main Event Winners
Another Big Bounty poker tournament wrapped up on bwin’s poker tournament page. This time it forsberg1979 and ananaas who were most happy at the end of it. The entrants were all vieing for a package worth $17,000. It included a 10k buy-in the World Series of Poker Main Event and travel money. 790 people started the day dead even, all hoping to survive long enough to make the final two. The online poker tournament progressed with knockout after knockout until there was a final table.
Sitting on the biggest stack ananaas was the envy of the tournament with 394,000+. Right behind was fjvesa 378,000+. Following up were: tuhkimo99 (297,000+), duxy75 (252,000+), Iroman_1 (218k,000), forsberg1979 (196,000), Dorni (191,000), a virtual tie in 8th and 9th in chips as Joesn10 and otarek each had around 180,000, and short stack was Rudy91 at 80,000.
The eliminations were fast fast and furious as players avatars disapeared left and right. One of the more notable names, Otarek a team bwin veteran, got squeezed out of contention and missed out on the package. He finished in fifth place. Surprisingly, it only took 10 minutes for the field to be narrowed to three.
Now, things were tense. You’d expect the action to slow a bit, but you’d be wrong. The package bubble barely lasted three hands. This despite the players knowing only two could win the package to the WSOP. The player who had made up the most ground, and managed to get a shot at the prize was forsberg1979. He had 765,00+.
The two chipleaders when the final table started were also alive but while ananaas had chipped up to 1.2 million, fjvesa was treading water and actually had lost 50k falling to 323,000+. The short stacks settled the tournament when fjvesa moved his chips all in after a raise by forsberg1979 . To the delight of forsberg1979 after he made the call he was in a dominating position. On the other hand, fjvesa could not have been happy to see his K2 dominated by forsberg1979’s A2.
Neither made a pair and A high won it for forsberg1979. Third place fjvesa won $7.4k and a $93+7 Bounty ticket. Surely he’ll use the ticket for another chance to play poker tournaments for another shot at the WSOP Main Event. The action wasn’t completely over as forsberg 1979 continued his final table torrid run by winning an additional 1.3k after he beat ananaas heads up.
