It’s a bad, bad, bad thing to hit and run.  Both in a vehichle and at a poker table, though it’s clear certain pros successfully use it as a playing strategy.  Get in, get a profit, get out.  While others might argue those guys aren’t maximizing their profits, several have grown their bankroll by employing just this tactic.

So coming off a rather meager 400 hand installment of the Durrrr Challenge, Tom Dwan and Patrik Antonius were ripe targets.  Perhaps, bored with playing heads up, having already logged just short of 25k hands, the two opened up their table.  The Challenge requires 50k but neither player seems to be in any hurry to complete it.  Perhaps, the thin edge is proving to be too thin for the opportunity cost required to be tied up in such a battle, so why not invite some new blood.  As they put the shingle out at their $500/$1000 No Limit Hold’em game they got only one taker.

The player that sat down, a winning player at the  high-stakes level, didn’t sit long as POKERBLUFFS was at the table for a meager 21 hands.  POKERBLUFFS and Dwan got involved in a pot over 100k, and after winning it POKERBLUFFS “stood up” from the virtual table and was gone.

Like an out of control driver leaving the scene of an accident POKERBLUFFS disappeared into the night.   This has become a running theme for POKERBLUFFS who has grown his online poker bankroll by getting in and out of the pool of sharks quickly.

With POKERBLUFFS off with his money, Dwan could only get his money back via Patrik.  Why this didn’t immediately shift into another installment of the challenge is bizaare but if didn’t.  Dwan got his money back and more a few hands later when his pocket 9s best Patrik’s pair of 8s.  The pot was 186k.

He gave it back almost immediately after when Patrik held the pocket nines and Dwan held top pair on the board (sixes).  The pot was 178k.   Dwan and Patrik played for a while and Dwan ended up 50k.   Which basically transferred the hit and run victim to Patrik’s bank account as Dwan almost broke even on the night (-10k), POKERBLUFFS made off with 60k, and Patrik was down 50k.
