Different Classes of Poker Players -Where Do You Belong? Part 3
SAGs: They do not make any dumb cells. They have an enhancing image on their table. People are winded up the SAGs. Even non-obnoxious SAG upsets people on a table. He provokes to rile up his opponents and put off their game and take the chips away. Good SAG’s frustrates their opponents and take full advantage of the aggravated opponents making dumb bets.
The very presence of good SAGs makes people nervous, try to avoid temptations. Beat these SAGs with patience. Do not sit with folded hands on a table to watch helplessly that a SAG runs a table. You may be sucked into the trap of over valuing marginal hands against a SAG.A good SAG has an eye to recognize your style if you are playing with an aggressive style and definitely he knows how to use all the tricks, traps and temptations against you. Instead of getting mixed up in smaller ones try to play one or two big pots.
Play slowly with patience and confidence, Once you turn down a SAG you will be left alone with easy picks. It is upto you to choose your own style to play. You should be aggressive, try to take all the advantages, and all the opportunities available without taking any risks. You should have all nerves, courage and strength to take a pot that is not rightfully yours.
You should bluff, know how to play tricks and have guts to steal a pot. Psychological calculation and observation helps you to learn how to bluff successfully. You will see bets like bluffs, the more you play the more you will com across such bets. There is no limit to hold them. In this game there is every possibility of dodgy action.
As limited raises tend to tie one arm behind the bluffers backs by reducing the amount they can bet. But the question is why should a player go for these bluffs, tricks and tracks. On the other hand a player can play well in straight forward manner with good hands with right and simple and people and invest his money when he is sure to win without any hook or crook just in a normal way. But, unfortunately would poker players know about this human characteristic and consistently grab their money away with pressurizing bets.
Besides, when you think about it, if everyone just played their cards poker would be reduced to a mere game of chance. Poker isn’t a card game, it’s a people game. Learning to play people gives you the opportunity to win more often than the cards would otherwise allow.
That’s not to say a good grounding in the principles of poker isn’t fundamentally important – and you’ll want to come to terms with those before you start trying to get cute. But the more you play, the more you’ll recognize good bluffing opportunities (and situations where someone else is trying to bluff you). Getting to grips with bluffing will not only give you opportunities to steal but also help you recognize when a thief is among you.
